==Usage==
This template places a block of text in the left of the page, without affecting the text alignment within that block.

;Comparison of {{tl|Block left}} and {{tl|left}}
This template retains the current text alignment (usually left), but moves the entire block of text into the left. To change to left text alignment, use {{tl|left}} instead.

===Parameter===
All parameters are optional. 
* {{parameter|class}} set block additional classes
* {{parameter|width}} set the width of the block
* {{parameter|offset}} set the distance ("indent") from the left margin
* {{parameter|gutter}}  set the gap between the normal content and the block
* {{parameter|align}} set the internal alignment of the block
* {{parameter|style}} add other kinds of style
* {{parameter|body}} or {{parameter|1}} content of the block

==== Width ====
Where there is a requirement to fix the width of the block, an optional {{parameter|width}} parameter can be used. When the content is text, prefer text-relative units like ''em'' to absolute units like ''px''.<ref>See [[H:PXWIDTH]] for further details.</ref>
